Waefeso 4:32

That is Eph. 4:32, which I guessed, due to the content of the msg. & I recalled the 4:32 part. In Kiswahili, it looks like this.

Iweni Wafadhili Ninyi Kwa Ninyi Mkasameheane Kama Mungu Katika Kristo Alivyowasamehe Ninyi.

Translated it is, as in your Bible, Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you.

Then we sang Amy Grant’s “Thy Word Is a Lamp Unto My Feet & a Light Unto My Path” with one of the missionary women playing the guitar. The 2nd song she played was Shine, Jesus, Shine.

Next was Bwana Nakuinui, which is Lord, I Lift Your Name On High.

Lastly we sang Imba Halleluya Kwa Bwana, which was Sing, Halleluiah to the Lord.

After this, John Johnson, another missionary living next to Russells, spoke, in English, with someone translating into Masai.

This was our morning with the believers here. Their church bldg. took 2-3 yrs. to build and cost $20-30,000.

So much for your facts today.

  1. I love how they sing songs in different languages. It’s cool to think about the fact that other ppl in other countries serve the same God as I do. Obviously that was the Lord’s plan when He divided all the countries and made up different languages. But I’m still in awe of how that is. I want to go to kenya next time you guys go! Especially if you’re going to see Russells. As I miss them very much. Take care! Can’t wait to see you guys!!

  2. Can’t wait to see you guys either, Jess! We leave a wk. from tomorrow already.
Tari was impressed with the fact that you wrote her & was happy about it!
Hopefully the next time we come, we’ll be in their new house! That (free!) rock on the outside is UNBELIEVABLE! Would your Mom/Dad be jealous! It is the best!
I’m very happy for them, as they’ve lived a very long time in these containers, altho, as you saw, made it quite the home & raised their 4 kids, plus entertained ALL those many, many people over the yrs.!
As for the Lord, yes, He is quite AWESOME, isn’t HE?

  3. Tell Mrs. Russell sorry that I haven’t written her a real letter yet. As in snail mail. Every time I sit down to do it I get distracted and do something else. I really do want to write a real letter to her though. The Lord is awesome! incredibly awesome! What day and time do you guys come home? That’d probably be a good thing to know. :-) I’ve been praying for Grandpa. His sickness may delay your time there. you think? I’m loving all these updates! Makes me really really miss my favorite part of Kenya(The Russells and their home)!

  4. Jess, I don’t have our itinerary anywhere near. I’m sure Aunt Mel or someone there has it in their email. I am vaguely recalling 7:30 p.m. on Thurs. (next wk.) so I’m expecting to see you all at ‘family nite’ for our return!

  5. That’s why I was asking. I need to know so that I can get off that night. Good thing it’s at night. I have class on Thursday during the day.
